Travel: Paris

A quick trip to Paris for our 5th anniversary was magical. Seeing the Eiffel Tower felt like I was in a movie set. The Palais Garnier was gorgeous! I kept expecting the Phantom to appear 🙂 So many childhood and adult dreams came true when I was able to walk through the Palace of Versailles and to see so many works of Van Gogh at Musée d’Orsay.

Versailles was so grand and beautiful. I can’t wait to go back in the spring or summer to see the gardens at their best. I read a book about Marie Antoinette when I was in elementary school and have wanted to see the palace since then.

Van Gogh is my very favorite artist. I’ve been able to see his work in a few different places and it always makes me so happy 🙂 The very best episode of Dr Who, IMO, is the Van Gogh episode. If you haven’t watched it… do it!

We also toured the Catacombs of Paris. I love history, so learning about these tunnels that make up a maze deep under the city was super interesting. Notre Dame was still under construction from the 2019 fire while we were there, but it was so impressive to see!

Walking around eating baguettes, drinking tiny mochas in coffee shops, eating Steak Au Poivre and seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night….it all helped to make this trip even more magical. I will definitely try to get back to Paris to see it in bloom next time. 🙂
