Back into the Groove

Summer time is officially over! I love summer… getting a tan, sleeping in, staying up late, traveling, floating in whatever water I can find, fireflies, bright colored zinnias…. it feels like freedom for a couple of months. It’s really not true. I think I still have a kid mentality of the freedom of summer. 🙂 I’m going to hold on to that as long as I can!

But… am I excited about fall! In some ways I fall into the typical “girl that loves fall” vibe: I love to quote Anne from Green Gables “I’m so glad to live in a world where there are Octobers.”, I want to wear sweatshirts and anything that feels cozy, I want my favorite fall shows – Harry Potter, Hocus Pocus, Lord of the Rings, Matilda (musical version), Supernatural, Gilmore Girls… I may even watch Twilight 🙂 I want the leaves to change and to stay orange and red and yellow. But one thing I love about September and fall is that I feel like I can get back into a routine. I give myself my summer break of minimal routine, but when September 1 hits, I’m back at it. I’m slow going sometimes, but it’s happening 🙂

I started off in August and September helping with a fundraising event, planning a birthday party/Renassaince Faire theme, meeting up with friends because most of us have been MIA all summer, helping with some church events, and starting up with college group since they are back!

My craft room was finished late spring, so I’m very excited to make a post about that! I actually have probably 7 posts waiting to be finished, so that’s on my agenda for the next couple of weeks.

We had a couple of trips this summer that were so much fun. And… Joe and I have started a new project (wedged in before the fall project that we had already planned to do) 😉 Posts to come 🙂

Our sweet grandbaby turned 1 in July, and we found out that we are getting a new one in March! My youngest is graduating in December and wanting to start college in January. My heart is not quite ready for that.

All in all my freedom summer was full and lovely. I learned new things, experienced lots of beautiful moments and got to spend time with lots of people that I love. Enjoy the random pics 🙂
